NSheepshead Bay, Brooklyn

A livery driver was shot in the back early Christmas morning in Brooklyn after a passenger brandished a gun while arguing with his female companion in the backseat, sources said.

Despite a gunshot wound, the 39-year-old driver managed to hop out of his vehicle and walk back to the office of his Homecrest car service, a block away, and seek help, sources say.

Police later arrested the passenger, 29-year old career thug Shiekh Hoque, after finding him allegedly driving the stolen livery vehicle near the scene of the shooting.

Michael Littlejohn gets to keep his gun! Cops came, told him he needed a permit… But it’s from the Revolutionary War! Guns get classified as antique when the bullet and gunpowder must be loaded separately… Yeah, that’s way too labor-intensive to be poppin’ a cap in anyone’s ass. Hooray for Michael, that’s one fine lookin’ firearm.

“A longstanding landmark of Sheepshead Bay. Built by Austin Corbin and torn down several times because he feared the rabble would be able to come over to his exclusive neighborhood of Manhattan Beach. Manhattan Beach still acts quite uppity with these grotesque McMansions being built like they came out of a mold.”

Cherry Hill Gourmet Market, after much delay, just opened Sep. 10th in the old Lundy’s building. An actor from Mortal Kombat was there, as was borough prez Marty Markowitz (pictured above). …Cool! Apparently the special feel of Lundy’s is sort of retained.

Aw, Lundy’s.
“The Lundy family were fishers and entrepreneurs in Sheepshead Bay as early as the 1880s, with several businesses operating in the Coney Island and Sheepshead Bay area selling shellfish to local hotels. Frederick Lundy Senior began what eventually became one of Brooklyn’s touchstones as a humble clam bar in 1907. It was later expanded on stilts over the bay in the 1920s, but it had to be demolished in the early 30s when the City decided to place a new bulkhead on the south side of Emmons Avenue, replacing the motley arrangement of docks and businesses that had been there. (Merlis, Rosenzweig and Miller, Brooklyn’s Gold Coast).”

Dude wielding 12-inch knife shot dead by cops in Brighton Beach

The cops were called by his ex-girlfriend, who claimed he kidnapped and raped her. He apparently lunged at responding officers with his knife, and was unperturbed by gettin’ tased. After a shot was fired he then stabbed an officer in the bulletproof vest and got shot at five times. He was 20, and had 12 previous arrests - five of them involving the same ex. Damn.
